A state of awareness that involves attending to one’s present moment experience without judgment. Often referred to as a practice in which individuals develop increased capacity to orient attention toward moment-to-moment experience (including, but not limited to, emotions, thoughts, physical sensations, or movement) with a sense of openness and acceptance. Serves as the basis for various intervention models such as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).
