Article

The following is a curated collection of peer-reviewed, scholarly journal articles on complex trauma written by Dr. Joseph Spinazzola and colleagues. These articles span a range of topics relevant to complex trauma, including risk trajectories; symptoms and diagnoses; approaches to assessment and treatment; trauma-informed care and service system transformation; youth violence prevention; and the impact of trauma on mind and body.

Articles were selected with the aim of advancing general understanding of the complexity of human exposure and adaptation to interpersonal trauma, and to inform personal growth, professional development and multidisciplinary response. They by no means constitute an exhaustive list.

To find additional articles on these and other topics related to traumatic stress, explore our links to external resources, or consult with one of the many scholarly search engines available on the internet such as Google Scholar, PsycINFO, PubMed, or EBSCOhost.
